1. Use Cold Compresses

One of the major causes of face bloating is blood vessel dilation (enlargement), which is due to more fluid retention by the body. So excess fluid/blood puts pressure on the blood vessel making it enlarged and thus causing bloating on the face.

Applying cold compresses for 10 to 15 minutes on the face can constrict the blood vessels. Can give a soothing effect to it and reduce the bloating.

2. Do Facial Massage

Facial massage could be another solution that will be very helpful in the case of a bloated face. All you have to do is gently massage the face or ask someone to do it, using your fingertips. Facial Massage calms down the blood vessels in those areas and relaxes the fluid retention process.

All you have to take care about is to focus on the areas where you see more puffiness. Use any face moisturizer if needed to reduce to smoothen the friction between the skins. Make the strokes upwards which will give support to the fluid moments.

Long Term Solutions

Until now we were only looking temporary solution that could hide the bloating of the face.

In this section, we will be focusing on the core problem that leads to bloating faces, we’ll talk about ways to fix not just to hide it temporarily but to get rid of it.

1. Stay Hydrated

When the water level declines in the body, the concentration of sodium increases, leading to a mechanism that starts water retention in the body, causing puffiness. So being hydrated is crucial to avoid getting a bloating face.

Make sure to have at least 8 glasses of water a day. Water in any form will be beneficial but plain water would be the best. You can also develop a habit of having tea such as green tea, peppermint tea, etc., as it comes with several more benefits and has natural diuretic properties.

2. Reduce Salt Intake

High Salt intake is the main culprit that causes a bloating face. Higher Sodium level in the body increases the water retention mechanism and make the entire body bloated including the puffiness in the face.

So now the simple way to fix this is by reducing the extra sodium in the body. This can be achieved by cutting Salt intake, avoiding fast and processed food which usually contains high sodium, include more fresh, whole foods and veggies.
