Note: Most of the countries from the list of smallest countries are also the part of smallest countries by population as this is evident. We have only taken the countries that are independent and are not associated with any other countries.

Nauru is the 3rd smallest country with the least population in the world. It’s an island country in the Pacific with only 11,680 people living in the entire country of 21 sq km (13 sq miles). The population density of the country comes to 556. The country is mostly dependent on financial aid from several countries including Australia, China, Taiwan etc.

On the other side, Tourists also land on the islands usually from nearby countries to enjoy their vacations in nature and enjoy the famous water sports of the island.

Tuvalu is the second smallest country by population in the entire world. The total population that lives in Tuvalu is only approx. 10679. While the country of Tuvalu is tiny, it accounts for a population density of 410.

Regarding tourists, Tuvalu is the least visited country in the world. This is because of several reasons such as no international flights from major places. Currently, there are only two ways to reach Tuvalu, one is from Fiji and the other is from Kiribati. Also, the frequency of flights is less, once in a few days.

The world’s smallest country is not only small in terms of area but also in terms of population. Honestly, It wasn’t a surprise to me when I got to know this while researching the topic. The country with an area of 0.44 sq km has a population of 764 people which gives the population density as high as 1736.

The country generates revenue through various sources such as donations, and investments. real estate, museum, and other internal services. Although the size of the country is small, does not have any natural resources to generate revenue, and has no taxes, still it is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. One of its kind.
